I was introduced to Vine Leaves by my former housemates when one of them was havng a birthday meal. It was good enough for me to go back a few times that year.
On that visit two of us chose to have the mixed mezze between us. I don’t think I’ve ever had such a huge meal….the plates just kept coming. It was all fairly good. Sometimes the meat was a bit dry but nothing was terrible.
The menu has the classics you would expect. Kleftiko, Stiffado and moussaka all feature. There is nothing on the menu that really stands out but everything is done fairly well.
The main selling point of this place is its excellent value for money. Two two course meals and a carafe of wine will come to about £40. The portions are large too.
In summary, Vine Leaves is reasonably priced with good but not outstanding food. It is worth a visit.
